Our Little Pumpkin

Here he is--7 months old! (And dressed in his Halloween costume!) Boy has it been a weekend at our house...we have all been SICK with yucky flu stuff. It started last week, Thursday night, when Ollie got sick. He didn't have it real bad until Saturday. Joel got it bad Saturday night and Sunday, I got it Sunday night and am just now feeling like I can walk without fear of falling over! Please, don't come to our house unless you'd like to catch something! Wait a few more days...

Wow...Uhhh...our bathroom?????

Yes! Well, it will be soon. Joel started working to take off the wall board, and surely, one thing let to another (including a hole in the floor...) So we're sheetrocking. The upside? Now I can decide where I want my outlets!

Escape!

Okay, are we the ONLY ones with a son who does this? I mean, most kids I see SWING in a swing. Yes he's cute and all, but seriously...I think we'll have a handful when he starts walking...
(the pounding in the background is Joel working on our bathroom.)

Bathtime Fun!!!

Guess what? Mom and Dad took out our old bathtub and it's now in the garage. So instead of using that, I get to take a bath in the KITCHEN SINK! Isn't this fun? I just love it. The water goes up to my belly and I get to sit up! And my ducky was able to find its way to our sink...good thing. I love that duck. (the small blue thing that I'm holding...I named it "Kiki")

Progress

Today we (mainly Joel) spent some more time in our bathroom working. He took out the tub, toilet and sink/vanity, the mirror and all of our stuff. It looks pretty bare. We took out the carpet, too. Next step? Tile and paint...but first we have to prep the walls and floor. That will hopefully go smoothly--I just worry with this old house--I worry that it will turn into a "re-sheetrocking-and-laying-a-new-floor" kind of project. Oh well. It's not like it would be the first time!

6 Month Pictures

Courtney came over and took pictures of Ollie this week. We realized we didn't have 6-month pictures taken! So--here are a few highlights...there were many cute ones!
We posted the link to the right--the rest are over there! Take a look!

I'm Freeee!!!!!!!

Here it is! Our video of Ollie "crawling". Now we have to pay attention to him when he plays! (We did before, too--but it's different now!) He especially likes: the cords to our computer, anything liquid in a cup, and the old metal doorstop that's attached to our wall...it's right at his level...and he likes to chew on it! We try to put a stop to that right away!

It's Fall...and you know what that means!

Projects INSIDE!!!!! Today Joel started tearing apart our one and only disgusting room left...our "master" bathroom. You can't technically call it a master bathroom--especially if you've seen it--but it IS the bathroom off of our bedroom. Anyway--here are some pictures of the morning's progress. I wish we'd had an actual "before"--but I know many of you have seen this bathroom...

Starting to tear out the old cupboard and tub surround...
Ahhhh..in the midst of a mess--a lovely pink Strawberry Shortcake trashcan! Isn't it beautiful????? (actually, I'm quite serious...)

The shelving unit is out!

And finally.....
A lovely claw foot tub! We THOUGHT there had to be one under there! So, if anyone is in need of thin brown carpet, old linoleum, or 1940's wallpaper remnants--please contact us.

Okay, just ONE more!

I know, I know...most of these pictures are of Ollie...but here's one more picture of him in his outfit today. Thanks to Aunt Karla--he is dressed to impress!

Prunes and Cold Mornings

Well, Kansas is finally starting to feel like fall. This morning it was in the upper 40's! We went for a walk and I bundled Ollie up--he had a blanket on him, as well as this get-up. Cute, huh?
We also took a picture of him eating prunes. This is one of MANY foods that he likes. We actually haven't found anything that he doesn't like...except waiting to eat. (Could this be a window into the future?...you know...the dark mustache/beard...)
Finally, his newest interest is his little red wagon, "White Lightning". He like to play with that. I think he may become an engineer! (You can't tell in this picture, but he likes to move the moving parts, chew on the wheels, and look it over real hard...)

Our Week

Well- things are starting to slow down a bit around here. Ollie had his first ear infection about a week ago, and had a really bad cold before that. He had a touch of that after taking his antibiotics--but I think it's finally going away. Then, Thursday he had his 3 shots at his 6-month appointment--those affected him much more this time than they ever had! Needless to say--it feels like we have a newborn again with him waking up during the night.

But here are some pictures from the week:

Playing with a fun toy...Playing with Taylor...

Giving me a goofy face...Getting very close to the camera... (he has started lunging at our faces and trying to bite them!)

Other fun news: yesterday was mom and dad's anniversary--we had them and Courtney over for supper. It was fun. I got to ride their new motorcycle. I have to say, it is odd looking out the window, telling Ollie "Grandma and Grandpa are here! They rode their motorcycle..."...weird. But it is LOTS of fun.

Tonight Ollie's accompanying me as I go hang out with some college friends. Joel will try to find someplace that will air the Cubs game...
