Look Alikes

These are the two boys...in the same outfit...at almost the exact same age.  (Ollie was a few weeks younger)  I see quite a few similarities...but some differences as well.

Also, do you notice the giant welt on Brahm's forehead?  Well, that is a spot of eczema that appeared, blistered, and then disappeared as quickly as it came.  Weird.  Hopefully that's the last we see of it!

Weekend in Nebraska

The last weekend in January, we headed up to visit our friends, Brad and Kara, in Nebraska.  This is the second year we've done it and it is SUCH fun!  We stay up late and play games and drink pop and eat stuff that's not so good for us.  But we LAUGH and relive our early pre-kids years.  :-)

Oh yeah, and speaking of kids, they really have a good time, too!  Oliver and Braden are about a year apart, which is NOTHING anymore!  They play really well together....(meaning, Oliver sits in the corner building with legos and Braden plays with Lily...)  It's always fun, too, because Braden lives on a farm--so there is lots of fun exploring to do.

They also had a new little guy this year--Luke and Brahm will be buddies I'm SURE!  Just look at their faces!

Valentine's Day

We started a new Valentine's Day tradition this year: eating a fancy dinner at home!  We all dressed up and had a really fun dinner.  The kids really enjoyed it and talked about it for a long time!

Plus, we made a heart chain of lots of people that we love...
And the boys surprised us:  Ollie picked out a stuffed puppy for Lily,
and Joel brought me sunflowers!

Brahm {3 months}

Today Brahm is 3 months old!  This has been a good BUSY month for him:

He started giggling and smiling at us a lot...(we found out he is VERY ticklish...one might even say "violently" ticklish!)

He found a good buddy.... (he and Oliver are seriously so cute together--Brahm coos and tries to smile at him all the time!)

He and Lily have a special bond, too--Lily tries to kiss him and dress him up and carry him...you know, all those good big sister things...
He rolled over a few times while on his tummy....

He loves being on his tummy and can get his head way up to look around....

He has found his hands and brings them to his mouth a lot--and is even sucking his thumb!  I think it is so adorable to see him doing that!  (Now...my almost 5-year old?  Not so much....)

He is sleeping well!  He takes lots of good naps during the day, and sleeps 8+ hours most nights.  I am still getting up once though, because he crashes by 8pm!  But I do love having that evening with Joel, too.

We are so thankful for this happy little guy.

Uncle Tyler and Lily

A week ago we had the opportunity to get away for a few days....we went to visit our friends in Nebraska for our annual "let's get together and play rook and eat junk food....oh yeah where'd these 5 kids come from?" weekend.  A little wordy, I know.  But it works.

Anyway....on our way up, we decided to stop and visit my brother and his family in Clay Center.  It was a SUPER fun half day together...and I got lots of pictures.  The ones I enjoy the most are of Tyler and Lily.  They have a love/hate relationship.  Tyler LOVES Lily, and Lily HATES him.  Okay, that's too strong.  She doesn't hate him.  She just takes a while to warm up to him...and when she does...she still requires a bit of space.

For example:

It's cute, really.

The rest of us played at the park after eating at the Tasty Pastry Bakery (Mmmm!)  Then we finished our visit by going up to the church when my brother works to see what it's like.  Oh yeah, did I mention he's a pastor?  He's a man of many talents!

The rest of the weekend pics are yet to come...
