My Most Recent Happenings...

In the form of a Top Ten List...

"Ways I Spent My Last Week"
10. Updating mom and dad on the state of our fire..."Hot!" (He says that anytime we walk by!)

9. Taking my socks off.

8. Trying to find new things to get into--I always check with mom first, though! (the radio, cupboards, cords, remote...) When she shakes her head--I copy, saying "No, no!"

7. Being sick! (I had to spend 3 hours in the ER Wednesday morning (at 1am!) for trouble breathing and a temp over 104!) Luckily, I am much better thanks to antibiotics and a strong shot!!!

6. Learning the value of money...in the form of plastic.

5. Pulling up on everything--and now I know how to get down!

4. Trying to make and remake my bed...during my naps! (Oh, and notice the blankets tied on the edges? Apparently mom and dad DON'T want the chewed-on look--who knew?)

3. Eating.

2. Riding my new toy around--thanks for lending it to me Danny!

1. Talking. I say many words now--and here's a small sampling to tease you with! If you REALLY want to hear me, you have to come over and play!

There's no Doubt!

In case any of you were wondering if Ollie has, let's say, a preference for one of us parents, the answer is a definite 'yes'. Want to know which of us he prefers? Watch the video!

(every time we watch this video--he confirms his decision by yelling "Da da!")

The Lord Sayeth...

"O ye of little fear..." Really. I'm pretty sure that's one thing that Jesus would say to Oliver. This kid just dives off furniture!!! And I can remember story after story about my brother, Tyler doing this, except he'd just fall off..hmmmm....maybe he has more Johnson in him than we think! Here is one picture of him taking his daring escape off the couch. He goes head first and we have luckily been there to grab his feet before his fall. He does this off of our bed, too. We have to sure watch this one!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

So I really wanted to try making little heart cakes like the bakery made (the one that I worked at in high school). It was fun! I do know, though, that cake decorators must have MEGA hand muscles--at one point I had Joel come and in lend me some muscle! I made these for a few of my friends (and Joel of course) and Ollie wanted two for his two girlfriends, Ava and Taylor. Joel surprisingly didn't want to take one to his co-worker at work....hmm...

Anyway--enjoy the day! And don't forget to tell someone you love them!

I'm getting so big!

This weekend I had so much fun! Mom and Dad brought me to G-ma and G-pa's house (Grandma and Grandpa Johnson). When I arrived, Daddy drove me up in my new trike! And upon opening the door--I found out that Addilyn (my favorite cousin) was there! Yippee!! Here are some pictures from our weekend.
Me figuring out my first Valentine! It's from my cousins in Indiana--Drew, Abi, Clara and Brianna. So--how do you work this thing, anyway?

Daddy and me perfecting our duet. Daddy needs a bit of work, I think!

Me and Addilyn riding. C'mon Addie--can't we go a bit FASTER???

Us playing with blocks. Silly Uncle Tyler likes to lay right where we're playing! But we got him back--we bonked him on the head with our blocks!!!
G-pa told us a great story about...hmmmm....I think there was a dragon...no, a monster...yeah. And...uh....I can't remember. But Addilyn and I had fun poking each other!

We ate lots of good food together--notice our cool bibs? G-ma hooks us up BIG TIME!

This last picture is of me. I was taking my afternoon ride this afternoon around our house. I came upon something I hadn't noticed before--the long mirror in mom and dad's room! I saw the most handsome fellow in there! So we talked and pointed for a while. He sure made some FUNNY faces!

SNOW DAY!!!

Today I don't have school! Yippee! I will say, though, that there is less of that euphoric feeling when you only work 11:30-3...but still--it's exciting.

Joel took the last two days off because he had vacation time to use--so he's been home, and now it's my turn! Good thing, too. We have small group tonight at our house and I have lots I can do to prepare. Speaking of--we're studying the "Good Sense" budgeting course from Willow Creek. It is an excellent study! It is practical, but very biblically based. We're adding in some humor, too, with Dave Ramsey videos. If any of you are in need of some good financial help--check out those two resources. (Or email Joel...) They are wonderful!

I Love Weekends

I really do. Especially weekends like this: last night, mom, dad and Courtney came over for pizza and blackberry cobbler. MMmmmmm! We enjoyed sitting around and eating, drinking coffee, talking and playing with Ollie. Courtney stayed the night (and Joel helped her do taxes). This morning, Joel made homeade donuts and we enjoyed our leisurely breakfast. Soon after, Courtney and I left for El Dorado to pick up Lisa (our friend) and Candace (Erin's best friend) and we drove to Topeka to meet Erin and Addilyn while Tyler did some TaeKwonDo. (don't ask me what he was doing) We went out to eat at On the Border, walked around the mall and found some good deals (including $5 CUTE outfits at Gymboree--you were right Karla!) and then went to Barnes and Noble and got coffee and read books. Ahhhh....what more can you ask for? Tomorrow--after church and our afternoon naps--we have a Super Bowl party with our Young Marrieds couples from church. I'm so excited. These are the weekends I most look forward to.
