I'll Admit It...

I'm a little overwhelmed.

This house project, although we KNEW it would be a lot of work, is turning out to be a lot of work. :-)

It's nothing new, nothing big, just ONE OF THOSE DAYS.

The kids are handling it all fairly well. It's amazing how easily entertained they are by a scraper and a broom. Good thing, because that's about all that's there.

I'm really trying to be intentional about giving them lots of good playtime at home, but we are up at the house more and more as things are getting done, and now that the weather's getting nice.

We ARE making progress--and to prove it, I'll post some pictures:

Stairway minus the banister (we have all the parts for the new one...just not sure how to begin tackling that...)
(oh, and I might possibly be slightly stressed (read: TOTALLY PANICKED) by the fact that we have no banister rail up there...so that makes our adventures at the house a little more tense for me...)
*see the red paint on the wall? That will be the new bright wall when you enter!

Master Bedroom
This has ended up being the hardest room to remove wallpaper on...it has taken us a week to get it all off...and there is still a little glue residue left to sand...
The "play room" wallpaper came off surprisingly well. Uncle Ed came over yesterday and he and Joel just pulled that stuff off with the help of Dave's steamer. Thanks Balzers!!

Oh, and double bonus: a painted giraffe on one wall. The kids frequent this room to say hi to the giraffe, and I heard Lily asking the giraffe to "hold her" yesterday.
With the exception of two bathrooms and the rest of the glue on our master bedroom, we are finished with wallpaper and ready to paint. Thank goodness!!! I have a group of girls coming tomorrow night to help out!!!

Joel finished pulling up all the rest of the linoleum flooring...

And now, he and a friend will be figuring our why our kitchen flooded this morning once our water was turned on.
It will be a beautiful house for us. We are THRILLED. And this was a sweet moment yesterday, once Dave finished pouring our new cement slab out back:

I think tomorrow, when it's 70 degrees out, I'll feel a little better.
And a vanilla Dr. Pepper wouldn't hurt, either...

I can't wait to come see it. It is all going to be worth it. I can't believe how much you are doing before you move in. Amazing with two little ones in tow.

It's really coming along nicely!! Of course, a nice hot soak in the tub with your new Great Cakes Soapworks soap wouldn't hurt either. :)

The house is looking great. You guys are doing such a wonderful job and so very fast. I feel so bad that we can't come to help - you know work. We would love to help paint- maybe you can save us something to do. You have super kids..just like their parents!!!!!

I saw the red wall when I drove by this evening. Looks really nice. It looks SO much better overall. Maybe I will come over and grab a paintbrush.
HA! I have a 70's house with wall paper to pull off over here too! So don't hold your breath. (Besides I'm lazy)!
