Thank you!

Thanks for all the encouragement to keep blogging. I'd totally deny that I'm an approval addict and say how now I'm totally cured of my insecurity and pride and competitive nature... but obviously, that'd be lying.

I DO like blogging--when I have time. May was an insanely busy month and I won't bore you with the details. (However, if you'd like to see for yourself, click here!)

But I do want to keep sharing fun things about the kids. And, I will...right after this 'introspective reflection': I'm realizing more and more this year how competitive I am. Not athletically, of course. (Stop laughing those of you who know me from highschool!!!!) But in every other way. I don't think that's something that will go away by not reading blogs. I really think that is a life-long struggle that I will have--something I'm having to give to the Lord often. And discontentment? Also a huge struggle right now. ___________________________________

As you can see, I don't have the answer to that. I'm just really focusing this summer on trying not to drive Joel insane with my issues. :-)

Okay, the kids:
We've been enjoying the summer weather!

Swimming

Working

Playing with our cousins, Addilyn and Asher (who are here for the WHOLE SUMMER!!!!)
(okay, that one is Aunt Nee-Nee!)

And to end with Ollie's 'quote of the day':
"Mommy, do you know what I'm dressed as today?"

"No, Ollie--what are you dressed up as?"

"A silo."

YAY!! I was going to be so sad not to see the pictures of the kids (and you too) or hear Ollie quotes. You should do the study I'm doing with a friend "Lord, Change My Attitude". I'm just glad He loves me no matter.

Thanks for the photos -- the ones with Ollie on the mower are CUTE...of course, Lily is too. And, I LOVE the fact that Ollie came to our house today dressed as a silo. I can't wait to see what he's dressed up as next time he's here. And, Kendall -- I have "issues" as well, and I'm afraid I drive Marc nuts sometimes with them (he will verify that statement). Truthfully, and I'm sure you know this, the ONLY thing that has kept me sane recently is being in scripture DAILY! It so much helps in keeping my focus on Him instead of petty little legalistic things here on earth. And, though I've never taken a break from blogging, I have, in the past, taken a break from Facebook for similar reasons :) Does that make you feel any better? Whoa -- this might be the world's longest blog comment.

Kendall,

It is so fun to see your pictures. I am glad that you are still blogging. You look like you are having a fun and busy start to your summer. I love the pool. It looks like a lot of fun. I will see what Jaycee thinks about the pool this summer. Great to see your posts. Keep them coming and I will pray for you in your struggles.

I love your posts too! I read (and quite enjoy) a number of your linked blogs, but I always save yours for last because I like it so much, so I'm glad to hear you will still be blogging!

1. I sent a long email with my thoughts. Hope its the right address- the yahoo one with both your names?

2. What is this nonsense about lacking athletic ability? Remember your mad push-up skills? I do.

3. The previous version of this comment read "Bad push-up skills". I deleted it. Thought I'd do what I can for that self esteem of yours. :)
